Managers Sacked This Premier League Season

The 2021/2022 Premier League season has been one of the most surprising seasons of all, not only on the pitch but also off the pitch.
Although It has only been 4 months into the Season, a running number of 5 has been sacked in the Premier League with a few more under threat of been shown the door out of their respective clubs.
PREMIER LEAGUE

XISCO MUNOZ (WATFORD) 3RD OCTOBER 2021

Xisco Munoz, the manager who brought Watford out of the English Championship and into the Premier League happens to be the first Premier League manager to be sacked this season.
He was sacked after 7 games this season and with Watford at 15th position on the Premier League table. He was replaced by Claudio Ranieri, the sensational manager who led Leicester City to Premier League trophy honours in the 2015/2016 Premier League season.

 

STEVE BRUCE (NEWCASTLE) – 20TH OCTOBER 2021


With the transfer of ownership of Newcastle United, Steve Bruce was sacked by the board, becoming the Premier League’s second sacked manager.

 

According to reports, Steve Bruce was good enough for the club, which now had the richest owner in the world. He has managed Newcastle for 2 years before his sack.

 

NUNO ESPIRITO SANTO (TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR)1ST NOVEMBER 2021

Following his exit from Wolvermpton Wanderers, Nuno Espirito Santo joined Spurs.

He started off with a good track, winning his first 3 games for the Lilywhites with cleansheets, earning him a manager of the month awards, but the following weeks’ results pushed him off his high horse.

With Tottenham 8th on the table, he was sacked and is currently replaced by former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss, Antonio Conte.

 

DANIEL FARKE (NORWICH CITY)NOVEMBER 6TH 2021

5 days after Nuno’s sack, Daniel FARKE was shown the door by Norwich.

Norwich weren’t able to clinch any win in the Premier League for 10 game weeks until game week 11, when Daniel FARKE managed to pull his first win, defeating Brentford 2-1, but even this win wasn’t able to save his job as he has been sacked by the club.

 

DEAN SMITH (ASTON VILLA)7TH NOVEMBER 2021

The next day after Daniel Farke’s sack, Dean Smith, the Aston Villa manager was also sacked.

Dean Smith led the club to a good Premier League season last season, but following the sell of club talisman, Jack Grealish Aston Villa hasn’t quite been themselves.

Even though the club acquired many talented players, like Danny Ings, Leon Bailey, Ashley young, just to mention a few, the club hasn’t performed as expected, which led to Dean Smith’s sack.
