Nigeria Trashes Sudan As They Qualify For Round-off 16Following their 1-0 win against Egypt, the Super Eagles of Nigeria played against Sudan today at Stade Roumde Adiia in their second game of the group stage.
The Super Eagles manager, Austin Eguavoen fielded the same starting line up as he used to beat Egypt, featuring a 4-4-2 formation.The game was opened up early by Villarreal winger, Samuel Chukwueze who scored off an assist from Moses Simon in the 3rd minute.Austin Eguavoen’s men didn’t relax though as Taiwo Awoniyi netted the second goal of the game just before the end of the first half in the 45th minute.The Nigerian Rampage continued though in the second half as Moses Simon turned scorer this time around, scoring in the 46th minute of the game. The Super Eagles would have gotten away with it if not for Ola Aina bringing down Mustafa Mohamed in the penalty box in the 69th minute and Sudanese midfielder, Walieldin Khidir converted a goal from the penalty spot to make the game 3-1.This win has pushed the Super Eagles into the Round-off 16 even though they have one more game remaining as th y remain the only team in group D has won any game as Egypt face Guinea-Bissau today.
