Players Who Have Collapsed On The Pitch In 2021

Football is a very extremely physical sport, and in the course of playing it injuries are common concerns, but players collapsing on the pitch during play is an extremely rare sight. Surprisingly, 4 foorballers have collapsed while in play, below are their names;
CHRISTIAN ERIKSENChristian Eriksen in a Danish footballer who plays for Series A outfit, Inter Milan as an attacking midfielder.
On 12th June, 2021 while playing against Finland in a Euro 2020 game in Parken, Finland, Eriksen suddenly collapsed during the game.Luckily, Denmark captain swung into action and organized both teammates and opponents to protect the player and take him off the pitch. It was later confirmed that it was due to cardiac arrest, Eriksen is well recovered now and has returned training.
SAMUEL KALUSamuel Kalu, a Nigerian striker collapsed while playing for his Ligue 1 club, Bordeaux in a game against Marseille on 15th August, 2021.He suddenly collapsed in the sixth minute, he was later brought back into play but was later substituted off for Remy Oudin in the fourteenth minute.
SERGIO AGUEROFollowing his free transfer to Barcelona, Sergio Aguero didn’t hit the ground running as he had an injury, he scored his first goal in Barcelona’s 2-1 loss to Real Madrid.
On 30th October, 2021, in a game against Alaves Aguero had breathing problems on pitch and was taken off, it was later confirmed that he suffered from a heart disease called Arrhythmia. Unfortunately, Aguero is currently reported to have retired from professional football.
ADAMA TRAOREOn 24th November,2021 during Real Madrid’s 0-3 win against Sheriff Tiraspol in a Champions League group match. Sheriff Tiraspol attacker, Adama Traore suddenly clenched his heart and fainted in the 77th minute.
Four minutes later, the Malian was taken off, he was conscious when he was taken off. Reasons for the scary episode hasn’t been revealed.
